Monday - No School - Memorial Day!

HW - PSA's are due.

Tuesday to Friday - This week teams will be preparing their Ocean Guardian School Environmental Stewardship posters as they get ready for their Youth Summit Presentations. Students need to learn what their data from last week actually means by studying the water quality parameters they chose.

We still need chaperones for that trip, Friday, June 7, os if you can make it, let Mr. G know.
8th-grade Science

Monday - No School - Memorial Day!

HW - Study for Genetics Test and finish Punnett Squares Baby activity if you haven't yet. Make sure to turn in your Punnett Squares Baby packet.

Tuesday to Thursday - This week 8th graders will be taking the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) in their Science class only.

If everyone finishes before Thursday we will continue our Punnett Squares practice to get ready for the Genetics Test. Students will take the test on Monday.

Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Monday - Today students are taking the Math Performance Task SBA Test!

If kids finish before lunch, then 1st period will have Science today. Either way, 2nd period will not have Science today.

First period will review how to use the water quality testing equipment and if there's time, they will go down to the creek to collect data!

HW - Finish your PSA if it's not done yet! Parents: keep a lookout on Bloomz for an all call for chaperones for the June 7 Youth Summit!

Tuesday and Wednesday - Both 1st and 2nd period will be going to the creek to collect data

Thursday and Friday - Once teams get some data on Chimacum Creek's water quality, they will graph and analyze the data to prepare their presentations for the June 7 Youth Summit!
8th-grade Science

Monday - Today students are taking the Math Performance Task SBA Test!

Third period will not have Science today while 4th period will have Science today. Fourth period students will finish drawing their Punnett Squares babies today.

HW - Study for the Genetics Test (use the Quizlet flashcards you all created in class and use the Pear Deck Takeaway Google Document).

Tuesday to Thursday - This week students will finish their Punnett Squares baby activity, practice for the WA State Science Assessment, and take the Genetics test.

Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Monday to Friday - This week the teams that are competing in the Maze Runner challenge will continue to work until they are ready to be timed. 

Once teams are done with the Maze Runner they can work on any Robotics Challenge they want!

Monday - Teams will continue being trained on how to use the water quality testing equipment as students finish their PSAs and work on their next environmental topics.

HW - Finish your PSA if you have not finished it yet so that you can start working on the next topic.

Tuesday - Today students will take the SBAC Math CAT Test and 2nd period will have Science today.

Wednesday - Same as Monday - by now all students should be done with their PSA and have begun working on their next environmental topic.

Thursday - Today students will take the SBAC ELA PT Test and neither 1st nor 2nd period will have Science today.

Friday - Late Start/Early Release today to get a jump start on Rhody!

Today we will finish training on the water quality testing equipment. If all teams are ready, we will go down to the creek and start collecting data.

8th-grade Science

Monday - Today students will continue working on the Punnett Squares practice to learn as many different ways as they can to determine the probability of certain traits being passed down from parents to offspring.

HW - Study the Genetics Vocab Quizlet at home. You can use the Quizlet App on your phone.

Tuesday - Today students will take the SBAC Math CAT Test and 4th period will have Science today not 3rd. 

Wednesday - Same as Monday. Once students are done with the Punnett Squares practice they will complete the Make a Baby activity to put their new skills to the test.

Thursday - Today students will take the SBAC ELA PT Test and both 3rd and 4th period will have Science today.

Friday -  Late Start/Early Release today to get a jump start on Rhody!

Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Monday to Wednesday - Students must finish their water pollution Public Service Announcements (PSA) by Wednesday at the latest. This week Mr. G will start training teams on how to use the water quality testing equipment.

HW - If you need to re-take the Energy quiz, make sure you study first. Get a packet with the questions from Mr. G then let Mr. G know when you are ready.

Thursday - Today students will take the ELA CAT SBAC test (see if your child knows what that all means!) so 2nd period will not have Science class today. 

First period will get Science so they will continue to work on learning how to use the water quality testing equipment.

Friday - Today Mr. G will continue to train teams on how to use the water quality testing equipment so that we can start collecting water quality data on our creek next week!
8th-grade Science

Monday to Wednesday - This week we will finish the Peas and Carnations activities so that students can create flashcards of the Genetics vocabulary.

Then students will practice using Punnett Squares.

HW - If you are re-taking the physics test make sure you study first.

Thursday - Third period will not have Science class today due to SBAC testing. 

Fourth period will continue working on our Punnett Squares activities.

Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Monday - Teams are working on their robotics challenges. In order to be on target for an A, teams need to be working on at least their 1st challenge. Teams that are on their 2nd challenge have a A in the class so far!
