Quarter 3, Week 1, 1-31 to 2-4

Monday - No school today - Semester Break.


Tuesday and Thursday - Tuesday Ms. Berg and I are switching the class we normally see on Tuesday because we didn't get to see them yesterday so today I will have my homeroom, 6G, instead of 6B and vice versa for Ms. Berg.

This week in Math students will get through Chapter 1 in the Big Ideas Textbook and do some work on Prodigy in class. The goal is to finish 1.1 Tuesday and then complete 1.2 and take the quiz for 1.2 on Thursday. The 1.2 quiz will be on Classcraft and Google Classroom.


In Science we will continue working on our STEM Robotics unit. Teams are expected to complete the Port View assignment as well as the Lego Mindstorms Programming assignment this week.
6B 5/6 Math & Science

Wednesday is centers day! In the last 2 hours of the day during Science, each team participates in a different experience either building or solving puzzles. One team even explores the world of VR with Oculus Quest 2 headsets! Each class will cycle through all six centers during our Wednesday Science time every other week.

Quarter 2, Week 10, 1-24 to 1-28

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday - In Math this week we are going to finish the Mean, Median, and Mode activity then students will take a pre-test before we begin Chapter 1 in our Math Textbook.

In Science students will begin working on our STEM Robotics unit. We are working on the Robotics in Science quest in Classcraft and the assignments we will be working on this week are Circuits and Switches, EV3 Circuit, Kit Overview, and Port View. Those who complete the Port View assignment successfully will move on to the Lego Programming assignment.

12:30 pm on Monday - Garden lesson with our garden teacher, Valerie.

Wednesday is centers day! In the last 2 hours of the day during Science, each team participates in a different experience either building or solving puzzles. One team even explores the world of VR with Oculus Quest 2 headsets! Each class will cycle through all six centers during our Wednesday Science time every other week.

Tuesday and Friday - In Math this week students will finish their pre-tests so that they can start working on the first chapter of their books. Sixth graders will be working from the Big Ideas book, which they all have a copy at home, and fifth graders will be working from their Bridges workbook.

In Science students are working on the Robotics in Science quest in Classcraft and the assignments we will be working on this week are the Port View and Lego Programming assignments.

Thursday - Students will do some testing in Math as the semester comes to an end. One of the tests will be a comprehensive assessment while other test will be a pre-test for the 6th grade textbook work that we are about to begin.

In Science we will continue working on our STEM Robotics unit.
6B 5/6 Math & Science

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday - Tuesday we are going to finish practicing how to calculate Mean, Median, and Mode. Then students will get time to complete their final reflection task.

Wednesday and Friday we will do some testing in Math as the semester comes to an end. One of the tests will be a comprehensive assessment while other test will be a pre-test for the 5th and 6th grade textbook work that we are about to begin.

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday - In Math this week we are going to continue working on our Data Science unit because we are still not quite done. We are still at the point of working with mean, median, and mode as well as measures of spread.

In Science students are still completing their reflection eportfolio pages. Monday we will have a lesson on atoms and a chemistry demonstration.

Once students are done their disease unit eportfolio reflection pages, we will begin working on our STEM Robotics unit.

We are still waiting for better weather to begin water quality testing at Chimacum Creek.

Monday - Late Start/Early Release due to weather so our day will go from 9:45 am to 2:20 pm

Monday and Thursday - In Math this week we are going to continue working on our Data Science unit. We are at the point of working with mean, median, and mode as well as measures of spread. We are almost done with the unit!
