Monday and Tuesday - Teams are going to continue working on their Sensor Labs.

Monday to Friday - Work on the Week 7 student blogging challenge. Write your week 7 post then comments on students from other classes.

HW - None unless you want to catch up on blogging challenge posts if you fall behind.
6th-grade Science

Monday to Friday - This week teams will finish exploring the features of the EV3 robot sensors. The assignment is called Port View and once teams are done with the Port View assignment they will begin the How Sensors Work assignment.

Teams will design and carry out an experiment on one of the EV3 robot sensors to learn more about the sensor they choose. Then they will write a conclusion sharing what they learned from their experiment. 

HW - The only homework so far is for students who have NOT completed their Faraday Golfing Machine blog post and/or their Robots blog post. Those who finished and got those two posts approved have no homework! 😀

This week period 3 will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.

Monday - No School - Veteran's Day!

HW - Time to begin Week 6! Students who are behind can catch up at home.

Tuesday - Today is our garden day.

Wednesday to Friday - Finish the Week 6 blogging challenge activity blog post. Then spend the rest of your time reading and commenting on blog posts from kids all over the world!
6th-grade Science

Monday - No School - Veteran's Day!

HW - Students were emailed their Mt Saint Helens test re-take scores. A minimum of 15 points is required to pass the test with a score 3 or meeting standard. 

The Faraday Golfing Machine and Robots blog posts are due (those who didn't finish last week are supposed to complete it for homework).

Tuesday to Friday - This week teams will clean up their Lego Mindstorms kits and organize them so that we can switch to new teams. 

Then students will get some class time to complete the Circuits and Switches and the EV3 Circuit Pear Deck activities that students who have been done with their Faraday Golfing Machine and Robots blog posts did already.

Then we will begin an activity to learn about the EV3 robot sensors, how they collect data, and the kids of data they collect so we can understand how they work.

This week period 2 will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.

6th-grade Science

Monday to Thursday - This week students need to finish their Faraday Golfing Machine blog post and their Robots Blog post. Period 1 will begin fish trapping this week, then Period 2 next week, and Period 3 the week after that.

This week students who didn't get to take the Volcanoes Test or those who need to retake it will get a chance to take the test.

HW - Study for the Mt Saint Helens Volcanoes test if you didn't get a chance to take it or if you need to retake it. 

Friday -  I have a sub today. Students will be working on their Classcraft Quests to complete any that aren't yet done.

Today we have a Veteran's Day Assembly, too, at 2:00 pm.
