6G - Mr. Gonzalez's 6th Grade Homeroom Class

SBA Math CAT Test on Tuesday
(6G will have Math & Science after testing)

and

SBA Math PT on Thursday
(6B will have Math & Science after testing)

Math & Science

Monday to Friday -
Math - This week we are going to work on the performance task practice packet that I printed for all 6th graders. This will give them an idea of the type of thinking and problem solving and writing they will need to do on Thursday's Math SBA PT test.

Then, with the time we get the rest of the week, we will work on the following assignments from the Math Google Classroom: 112 Turtles All the Way and 113 Representing Relationships.

Science - This week we are going to continue going down to the creek to get water quality. Students are going to be recording their data on our class spreadsheet to analyze and look for patterns. Once students get used to going down and collecting data, we will add two drones for us to get aerial photos and video of our creek where we collect data.

Tuesday - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the morning.)

Water Quality Testing
On days that the weather is safe, we will go down to the creek access point under the bridge that is on the way towards Cenex from the school. There, students will collect water quality data with our Vernier sensors and probes.

===================

Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students don't fall behind and so that all students can access ALL the learning.

Regular HW available for anyone who needs it -
For Math students have a workbook that they can take pages out of to take home for lessons that need more work if they don't get it during class or if they miss due to absence. Students can also finish or go back through any online assignment once we complete it in class on a computer, tablet, or phone.

For Science, if students fall behind on their classwork, they can catch up at home (if students do not have access to a computer at home, ask Mr. Gonzalez for an alternative
activity or assignment). If students want to access the practice quizzes and games on Google Classroom at home, they can work on those as well
 on computers, tablets, or phones.
