6th-grade Science Monday - Today student teams will start an activity to learn the difference between Observation and Inference (on Rezzly it's called, How do we know about something if we can't see, hear, or feel it?) HW - None if you are all caught up with the following Rezzly assignments: Lab Safety, Notebooking, Blogging in Science, Start Your Blog, and Tell Your Parents (signing up for Bloomz) at least.  Tuesday to Friday - (Tuesday and Wednesday we will be on a Late Start/Early Release schedule so Tuesday 1st period will have Science and Wednesday 2nd period will have Science.) This week we will complete the Observation vs Inference Activity then students will get time to work on Rezzly so they can finish the assignments that are due and start working on the Mt Saint Helens assignments. Students will have a practice quiz on Mt Saint Helens to see what they've learned.

8th-grade Science Monday - Continue working on Weather Lesson 1. HW - None, we are doing the Lesson 1 reading in class. Tuesday to Thursday - (Tuesday and Wednesday we will be on a Late Start/Early Release schedule so Tuesday 3rd period will have Science and Wednesday 4th period will have Science.) Once we are done with Lesson 1, we will continue to Lesson 2 to make sure students understand what causes the pressure differences that make up weather. Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

7/8 Robotics/ Programming Monday to Friday - This week teams will continue to work on their Lego Mindstorms EV3 challenges as they learn how to program their robots! The goals for this week are to complete the Move Challenge, the How Far Challenge, then the How Fast Challenge. HW - None

6th-grade Science Monday - Today students will take the Reading MAP test. Then my 1st-period class will have Science. Students will work on their Rezzly quests to submit the first few assignments of the year:  Lab Safety Notebooking Blogging in Science And others... HW - None Tuesday - Today students will take Math MAP Test, then my 2nd-period students will have science. They will complete the Rezzly quest assignments mentioned above. Wednesday - Today students will take English Language Arts (ELA) MAP Test, then my 8th-grade students will have science so no Science for 6th graders today.  Thursday - Today all my students will have Science. Students will continue to work on the Rezzly quests. Friday - Today is the last day students will get to work on their Rezzly quests. Monday we will begin a new activity.

8th-grade Science Monday - MAP Testing today so only my 4th-period class will have Science.  Fourth period students will complete their Biome Project reflection. Then students will get their Weather Workbooks so that they can begin Lesson 1. HW - Finish the Biome project work if you are not done yet. Tuesday - Today there is another MAP test so again no Science for my 3rd-period class. Fourth period students will continue working on Weather lesson 1.   Wednesday - Today there is MAP testing again but my 3rd period students will have Science! Third period students will complete their Biome reflection document so they can get their workbooks. Fourth period will finish Lesson 1 if they are not done yet, which includes the Classcraft weather quests.  Thursday - Today students will continue to work on the first Weather Lesson. Friday - Students will begin working on their Genius Hour projects.

7/8 Robotics/ Programming Monday to Friday - Students will finish learning how to create 3D objects using 3D Builder.  Once teams are ready, they will get their Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits to organize their Legos. Once the Legos are organized, teams will build their robot to begin the first sets of challenges.  HW - None

Tuesday - Today students will participate in a Mt Saint Helens Pear Deck activity to review what they learned at Cispus about Mt Saint Helens.  6pm - Back to School Night! 7/8 Robotics/ Programming Monday to Friday - This week we will check in and debrief what students learned last week.  Once we are done debriefing student teams will set up their Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotics kits. Once kits are ready students will build a basic EV3 robot to practice using the Lego Mindstorms programming software. Once teams are ready, they will begin their first challenges! HW - Tuesday: 6pm - Back to School Night! 6th-grade Science Monday - We will be working on Cispus activities all day today here at school. Students can bring their gear to leave here overnight and they will take the 2:20pm bus home. You can bring gear to your 1st-period class! HW - Come tomorrow with your daypack with your lunch and water bottle ready to go to Cispus! Tuesday - Students can take their regular bus to school and we will leave for camp at about 8:15 or 8:30am. Make sure students have a daypack with lunch and snacks. Wednesday and Thursday - Students will be at camp! :) Friday - Students need to be picked up from school at about 2pm. See you then!

8th-grade Science Monday to Friday - Our new Math Teacher, Mrs. Smith, will be subbing for me while I am at Camp Cispus. Eighth graders will be working on the Biome Project they started last week. The goal is for teams to have their Biome Commercial done by Friday. HW - None

7/8 Robotics/ Programming Monday to Friday - This week Mr. Morton will be subbing for me while I am at Cispus with the 6th graders. Students will be working on problem-solving, end-user reactions, product creation, and coding activities. HW - None
