Monday to Wednesday - This week we will continue to work on the water pollution Public Service Announcement (PSA) blog. Many students are still not finished.

Once PSA's are finished I will train students on how to use their water quality sensors so that we can start going to the creek to collect water quality data.

HW - If you did not get your water quality permission slip signed, please turn that in right away. (If you cannot print from home ask Mr. G to print another copy for you.)

Thursday - Today students will take the second of their SBAC tests. Today they will work on their ELA performance task test.

I will not see my 1st and 2nd period classes, 3rd period will meet after lunch to work on our water quality training and/or finishing their PSA's.

Friday - Continue PSA work and water quality equipment training. If we get done by today we can start going down to the creek next week!

Monday - Group A -  A small group of students is still going into the Deadmines Dungeon so that we can try to beat it. Students are also completing the 3D GameLab quests on the role that villains play in a story. Completing the Villains quests will allow students to start playing a Horde character to learn about the villains of the World of Warcraft story.

Some students have chosen to continue the story from their Alliance, or original, characters.

HW - None

Monday & Tuesday - In 2nd period we will take some time to finish practicing for Student-Led Conferences (kids are rehearsing how they will present their portfolios to their parents!).

Students are making sure they have their Science portfolios ready for Wednesday's Student-Led Conferences. Also, students are still working on their Public Service Announcements. Once all of those are done I can begin to train students on how to use the water quality testing equipment so that we can start going to the creek and collect water quality data!

HW - If you did not get your water quality permission slip signed, please turn that in right away.

Make sure you schedule your child's Student-Led Conference this Wednesday! If your child is going to We Day you can schedule your child's Student-Led Conference for another day.

Wednesday - No School Today for Student-Led Conferences!

Thursday - Today Sarah and Emily from the North Olympic Salmon Coalition will be back with benthic macroinvertebrates from our creek! Students will identify the bugs to figure out how well our creek is doing (we will generate a biological integrity score).

Friday - No Science for 1st and 2nd period because we will all be testing. I will be testing with my 1st period class.

3rd Period - The goal is for all students to be done with their water pollution Public Service Announcement blogs today we can select the class favorites to feature on our World Solutions blog.

Monday to Wednesday - Students need to finish their Water Pollution Research and write their Public Service Announcement. That was due the week before spring break and is now late. We will choose the best ones to feature on our 6th grade World Solutions Blog!

Once students are done with their public service announcement we will begin learning how to use the water quality testing equipment to go to the creek and collect water quality data!

HW - Tuesday students will get a permission slip (you can download and fill out this copy if your child loses his or her copy) for the water quality testing because we have to walk near the street to get the section of the creek where we test the water.

If your child is in my 2nd period class I will be sending home a Student-Led Conference letter also on Tuesday! (See it here first!) Student-Led Conferences, happening on April 20, will be in everyone's 2nd period homeroom class.

Thursday - Today we will have visitors from the North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC) to help students learn the history of Chimacum Creek and the restoration projects currently happening!

Friday - If enough students are done with their water pollution public service announcements we will choose our favorite ones to feature on our World Solutions Blog.

My 1st period class may not have Science today because we will be practicing for Student-Led Conference with our 2nd period Homeroom classes in the morning.

Then we can begin training for our visit to the creek for water quality testing.
