Monday - Memorial Day - No School.

HW - Have a great weekend!

Tuesday - Sixth graders are getting ready for Thursday's Youth Summit field trip.

They need to analyze their water quality data as they learn what their water quality parameters mean. (Here's the book with water quality information on Chapter 4, here's a graphic organizer for taking notes, and here's an organizer for determining how Chimacum Creek is doing).

HW - If you have not finished your Salmon Webquest, macro comic booktree planting blog or your water pollution public service announcement  then it's homework.

Also get anything you need to finish your water quality stewardship poster for Thursday's field trip.

Wednesday - Last day for teams to complete their posters for tomorrow's sharing circle presentations!

HW - Finish your poster and bring a WASTE FREE lunch!

Thursday - Today 6th graders will be at the GreenSTEMs Youth Summit all day!

HW - None

Friday - Today 6th graders had to determine where they are on what they need to get done this year.

Some are having to revisit their water quality parameter using the Everything Water eBook or using the websites to finish their notes and learn their parameter.

Some are watching the graphing video at home to graph their data for the two weeks we visited the creek AND going back to 2002.

Some are ready to start planning their stewardship website (which will include information about water pollution, benthic macros, salmon, water quality, tree planting with photos of the tree planting and the water quality testing plus the graphs). Teams will build a site using Google Sites as their final project!

HW - Watch the graphing and using Google Sites videos!
8th grade Science

Monday - Memorial Day - No School.

HW - Have a great weekend!

Tuesday - Some teams still need to present their plant projects to the class. I will give them some time to refresh their memories after being gone all last week.

5th period set fish traps today.

Then they will complete their plant unit by completing reflection blogs.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today 2nd period teams still need to present. In 5th period all teams are done so everyone will be working on their plant project ref.

5th period will retrieve the fish traps to id and count the fish.

HW - None

Thursday - Sub today. Work on your plant project reflection blog today while I'm gone with the 6th graders.

Here's the assignment:
Share whatever you created for your presentation, which includes what you learned from your research. You need to embed photos, pictures, drawings, snapshots of posters, Glogs, Prezis, movies or anything you created plus copy and paste anything you typed up. Include a full bibliography using easybib.com.

Explain your experiment, the problem question, hypothesis and your conclusion. Include any photos of your experiment to help your readers. Here's how to write your conclusion:
A is for the answer to the question, the conclusion.
E is for evidence
I is for inaccuracies or sources of error.
O is for observations
U is what did you understand?
And sometimes Y is to ask a pertinent question.
HW - None

Friday - Students had today to finish their plant project reflection blog

HW - If you didn't finish in class, finish for homework.
