HW - None

Tuesday - Today students will complete the Lesson 9 lab where they will calculate the power their motors can generate.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today we will finish the Lesson 9. Students will graph their data, calculate the work work their motors did, then divide that work by the average time to determine the Power. Students will then graph the power data to see how that compares with time.

HW - None

Thursday - Today teams will share their time and power graphs so that we can see how they are related.

Then students will answer some reflection questions to see if they got it.

HW - None

Friday - Today students got to finish the eight reflection questions from yesterday. Then they worked on their class social network assignment prompts.

HW - Finish anything you didn't finish today.
8th grade Science

Monday - Today students will take a short assessment on cell size to see what they know about the sizes of cells.

Then they will explore the sizes of cells.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today we will review what students learned about the typical size of animal and plant cells.

Then students will visit a website to learn about tissues since tissues are made of more than one cell (like a liver tissue for example is made up of liver cells). We will play some games online to learn how the body works to heal tissues.

Period 5 will be setting the fish traps today.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today we will finish exploration of tissues and how we heal.

2nd per only: Then students will answer some questions about how form and structure determine function. Ask them about this after several days to see if they can explain to you what that means parents.

Period 5 will be retrieving the fish traps to id and count the fish today.

HW - None

Thursday - Today 2nd period will finish the form vs function discussion by completing a social network prompt and writing a blog.

Period 5 will begin the form vs function discussion today so they can get to the social network prompt and the blog question.

HW - None

Friday - Today both 2nd and 5th period classes worked on catching up. Most students are doing pretty well staying caught up on the blogging assignments but a majority of students are way behind on the class social network assignments. I asked students to finish the two social network prompts form yesterday, finish yesterday's blog assignment and catch up on their missing social network work.

HW - Finish anything you didn't finish today, especially if you are not all caught up!

Thursday - Students are still working on their compare a cell to a factory activity.

If teams have their liquids, we'll start the egg osmosis lab today by getting the mass of our eggs and placing them in the liquid.

Those who are done with all of the above will copy and paste their cell work to their blog, the Cell System assignment, then work on their Immune Attack blog assignment and their Plant vs Animal Cell blog assignment if they haven't finished those yet as well as the discussion questions to respond to on the class social network.
