HW - Students need to turn in their field trip permission slips and photo release form if they haven't already as well as finish their Public Service Announcement if it is not done yet.

For 2nd period ONLY: If you lost your Student-Led Conference sheet, click here for another one.

Tuesday to Thursday - Mr. G will be helping teams work on the next stages of this stewardship project once they complete their Public Service Announcements. Teams need to finish their PSA's by Thursday so that they won't have to work on it over spring break!

This week period 3, Group A, will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.

Monday - Students have had two weeks to answer the Water Webquest questions (six of them) so this week teams are supposed to complete the Water Pollution Public Service Announcement!

HW - Finish your water pollution notes (answering the six questions) if you are not done yet.

Turn in your field trip permission slips and photo release form if you have not done so already for our March 31 field trip.

Tuesday - Today we will have a guest from the North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC) come to do some pre-March 31st field trip activities with the students. The activities are to prepare students for the field trip.

Wednesday to Friday - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I will be attending the NCCE Educational Technology conference in Portland, Oregon! The district is sending me and another teacher to represent Chimacum and learn as much as we can (I will be presenting a session on using 3D GameLab!) so I will have a sub for the rest of this week.

Students will be working on their water pollution Public Service Announcements while I am gone. The goal is that they finish their announcement, submit it to me by sharing their Google Docs and blog posts, and then work on other 3D GameLab quests!

Monday - Students were supposed to have completed the Water Pollution Intro quest last week. All they had to do was to draw their idea of a healthy creek system and write what Environmental Stewardship means in their own words. Those who did not complete that last week have fallen behind.

Last week students were supposed to begin researching water pollution on the Water Webquest by answering the six questions.

HW - Get your field trip Permission Slips signed and turned in ASAP so you don't forget!

If you have fallen behind, do some of your water pollution research at home so you can start writing your Public Service Announcement this week.

Tuesday and Wednesday - We will be on a Late Start/Early Release schedule. Students should be wrapping up their water pollution research so they can start preparing for the next stage of this project - writing Water Pollution Public Service Announcement!

Thursday and Friday - Students should be working on their Water Pollution Public Service Announcements. They get to write those as a team using shared Google Docs.

This week period 2, Group C, will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.

Monday - Today student teams will start a water pollution project to figure out ways our creek, Chimacum Creek, can get polluted and what we can do to prevent and protect our creek.

Each team will publish a Public Service Announcement. Even though we are focusing on our creek, teams can choose to study other water pollutions such as ocean pollution or lake pollution instead of river/creek.

Students who chose to participate in the Student Blogging Challenge will get their first challenge today as well! They have all week to complete their challenge.

HW - None

Tuesday through Friday - I will be showing videos each of salmon restoration projects as well as climate change science to help students. Then teams will get the rest of the class period to work on their water pollution project.

This week period 1, Group B, will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.

The second choice that other students are taking is to continue playing their Alliance character to get it to level 20, get a mount, and try some dungeons.
