6th-grade Science Monday - Garden Today! When not at garden, students will continue learning how to program their robots. Tuesday to Friday -  This week students will continue to practice programming their robots so when we start the challenges they will know how to program them. This week students who missed any of the MAP tests will get to take it.  If the weather permits, either Period 2 or 3, or both, will do fish trapping this week.

6th-grade Science Monday - No garden today - MAP Reading Test. My period 1 class will have Science class once everyone is done MAP testing. They will continue building their robots and learning how to use the Lego Mindstorms programming software. Tuesday - MAP Math Test. My period 2 class will have Science today once we are all done with MAP testing.   They will continue building their robots and learning how to use the Lego Mindstorms programming software. Wednesday - Today will be a regular Wednesday. All three classes will work on building and programming their robots. Period 3 will be able to set the fish traps today if the weather is safe. Thursday - MAP Language Test. My period 3 class will check the fish traps if we were able to set them yesterday. Then they will continue to work with their robots. Friday -  Robotics today. Teams will continue practicing programming their robots and learning how to use the sensors.

6th-grade Science Monday - Garden Day While in class, students will be able to finish their Coding in Minecraft eportfolio reflection. Tuesday through Friday -  This week we will start our Robotics unit. We will begin with an intro to robotics presentation. Then students will learn about the Lego Mindstorms EV3 kit. Teams will be assigned their kit then they will build their first robot to practice using the Lego Mindstorms programming software.  Once teams are ready, they will begin the first challenge called Sensabot. This week period 1 and period 2 will do the fish trapping if the weather permits. I we can get one trapping done, it will be period 1.  Note: Only Period 1 was able to go fish trapping this week.

6th-grade Science Monday - Garden Day! In class students will prepare their Coding in Minecraft Intro to Coding work for their electronic portfolios! Tuesday -  Students are going to reflect on what they learned working on the Coding in Minecraft Intro to Coding with MakeCode 3.0 by adding a page to their electronic portfolio! Part of the student reflection is sharing screenshots and videos of what they built and showing off the codes they wrote. Wednesday - Half Day Schedule Dismissal at 12:15 pm We will have all three classes today for an hour each! Students will use their time in class to finish their Coding in Minecraft Intro to Coding electronic portfolio reflection page. Thursday and Friday - No School for Thanksgiving!  This week period 1 will do the fish trapping if the weather permits.

We will all have guest teachers subbing for us on Tuesday. This week we will work on completing the Intro to Coding with MakeCode 3.0 Coding in Minecraft course! Kids will need to finish Lessons 3, 4, 6, and 7. We will complete Lesson 5 together and then they will have time to reflect on their learning by adding a Coding in Minecraft page to their electronic portfolios. This week period 3 will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.

6th-grade Science Monday - Today classes will go to garden in Math again to complete their Math/Garden project.  Monday to Thursday - This week I will give more time for students to complete Lessons 3 and 4 on the Coding in Minecraft intro course. Students who finish lessons 3 and 4 are working on Lessons 6 and 7. We will complete Lesson 5 together. If we don't get to Lesson 5 this week, we will do it next week. Friday -  No School today - Veterans Day! This week period 1 will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek. If we can, we will have period 2 fish trap as well!

Monday - Pajama Day - NO Halloween Costumes Tuesday - Funny Hair Day Wednesday - Mustache Day Thursday - Funny Sock Day AND School Picture Day Friday - Hero Day Monday - Classes will go to Garden in Math today, not during Science, because of a Math project students will be working on in the garden! :) In Science students will continue to work on the Coding in Minecraft Intro to Coding with MakeCode 3.0 course.  Tuesday through Friday - The goal is to get through Lesson 3 so that we can work on Lessons 4 and 5.
