Quarter 2, Week 8, 1/7 to 1/11

6th-grade Science

Monday to Friday - Teams are going to finish building their EV3 robots and begin learning how to program them this week. 

Then teams will complete their first robot challenge - the Sensabot Challenge!

HW - The Semester ends Friday, January 25. If you need to finish any work that you did not get done before Winter Break, or if you need to re-take the vocab quiz, you will need to do so by Monday, January 21st, at the latest.

This week period 1 will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.
8th-grade Science

Monday - Today Laura Tucker from Jefferson County Public Health will be here to start teaching the 8th grade Human Growth and Development unit for 8th graders.

HW - The Semester ends Friday, January 25. If you need to finish any work that you did not get done before Winter Break, or if you need to re-take the Weather Assessment, you will need to do so by Monday, January 21st, at the latest.

Tuesday and Wednesday - Eighth graders will have these two days to finish their Future City projects and prepare to present next week.

Thursday - Day 2 of the 8th grade Human Growth and Development course with Laura Tucker.

Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Programming


Monday to Friday - The teams that are learning to program their EV3 Robots using Java will continue working on their lessons.

The teams that are working on the Robo Zoo Challenge need to finish this week so that we can record it and they can move on to the next challenge.

Other teams are continuing to work on the challenges they chose before Winter Break as well. (Only one team remains that needs to complete the Maze Runner Challenge.)
