6th grade Science Monday - I will have a sub today as I go to a WA STEM conference for the professional development grant we got. We will be learning what we get to do as part of this statewide grant initiative! While I'm away students will log in to their 3D GameLab accounts to continue doing the assignments (which we call quests) we started on Friday. Students will also be reading some cool Science articles to practice commenting on Science blogs. They will comment on posts that I wrote on our class blog. HW - None if you all of the following done: 1. Parents signed up for Remind and Class Dojo, 2. parents visited the Parent's Corner of my website and took the short info survey, 3. got the Informed Consent Agreement and Permission to Publish form signed, and 4. are working on getting all the Cispus paperwork all done. Cispus trip is next week!!! :) Tuesday - Check in on 3D GameLab quests to make sure everyone is logging in well and learning how to use the system. I gave students a lot of feedback today on how to get their Science assignments (quests) approved by me on the first try. The main lesson: read the directions! If I explain it and provide written directions on what to do, students need to read the directions to know what to do and how to complete it. :) I went over the comments students left yesterday on the awesome articles they read yesterday and we learned how to make better comments for Science. Basically, Science blog comments should not look like Facebook comments. :) HW - See Monday's HW. Wednesday - By today the plan is to have students begin blogging using our class blog accounts on Class Blogmeister. I will give students time to learn how to use Class Blogmeister, write their first blog post, and complete that quest along with any others from this week. HW - See Monday's HW. Make sure all Cispus paperwork is complete and turned in and that the fee is paid. Thursday - By today students should begin working on their volcano quests. We will be learning about the different types of volcanoes including the different types of lava and eruptions there are. Here's what you missed if you were absent today. HW - See Mondy's HW. Friday - Today students will continue to work on their volcano quests. Monday we will be doing Cispus activities all day long as we get ready for our trip! HW - Hopefully all is done by now! :) In preparation for Cispus, remember you can bring your gear on Monday, here's a copy of the Packing List and the Reminders we sent in case you need it. | 6th grade Exploratory Peace 4 Kids (This is my 1st period class come back for 4th period.)Monday - Students will be working on an activity called Making a Complaint to learn a strategy for making complaints! HW - None Tuesday - Today we will go over the Making a Complaint activity. HW - None Wednesday - We will start off today by having students share their Making a Complaint role plays. HW - None Thursday - We will finish watching the Making a Complaint role plays. HW - None Friday - Today we will review last week's goals from the goal setting activity. Then we will set new goals for next week's Cispus trip! HW - None |
