8th grade Science

Monday - There are many students who have not completed their classification projects even though I extended the deadline by one week. They are not using class time to complete the project so that means they are okay with completing the project at home.

Today we are going to start some activities to think about how form or structure relates to or leads to function. That is the big idea we will be investigating as we begin our study of cells.

I will have a sub in the afternoon for my 5th and 6th period classes because a few middle school teachers will visiting Hawkins Middle School to learn how they do standards-based grading.

HW - Finish your classification project.

Tuesday - Today students will have activities available that will help them learn about atoms, elements, molecules, and compounds. This will help them understand how cells function.

Wednesday - Today we will do a cheek cell lab so that students can see human cheek cells under the microscopes.

Thursday - Today students should be working on some activities to learn about ionic and covalent bonds and biological molecules. This will help them understand how things travel in and out of cells.

Friday -Snow Make-Up Day so No School Today! Happy Valentines Day!

HW - Have a great four day weekend! (Did you finish your classification project)?
