Monday to Friday- Teams are still working on their Sensor Labs so they have more time this week to finish their labs.

Once teams are done with their labs they need to organize their kits so that we can switch teams and begin building their robots to learn programming.

Monday to Thursday - This week is the deadline for the Future City project. All teams need to have their essay complete, their virtual city presentation complete, and their 3D model complete. 

If you need to raise your grade in Science, fix your Weather Test.

Teams will present their future cities after Winter Break.

Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Monday to Friday - Teams have chosen between working on STEM Robotics 101 or STEM Robotics 102.

The STEM Robotics 101 teams are either finishing the Maze Runner challenge still or working on the Robo Zoo or building color sorting robots!

The teams working on STEM Robotics 102 are beginning to program their robots using Java code!

Monday to Friday - This week students should finish their Sensor Labs. 

Then they will begin building their first EV3 robot so they can learn how to program them!

HW - If you did not do well on your vocab quiz, or if you did not get to finish in class, you need to study the Quizlet and take the quiz again. Quizlet and the actual quiz are both on Google Classroom.

Students need to have at least 380 XP on Rezzly with 18 to 20 quests done by now.

This week period 2 will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.
8th-grade Science

Monday to Thursday - This week teams need to work on their Future City presentations, including the screenshots from their virtual city, finish their essays and begin building their 3D city models.

Tuesday we will be having a guest from the PUD to teach students about power in our county! 

HW - If you got an F or a D on your Weather Assessment, here are instructions for fixing your test.

Bring recyclable materials to build your 3D Future City model.

Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Monday to Friday - Some teams are working on the STEM Robotics 101 challenges. They need to complete about one challenge every two weeks to make it by the end of the semester with a good grade.

The rest of the teams are working on learning how to program Java. Once they learn the basics they will begin to program their robots using Java!

HW - None if you are all caught up. As I shared at conferences, 6th graders should have a minimum of 380 XP on Rezzly by now with at least 16 to 18 Rezzly quests done.

Once teams are done with the Maze Runner challenge we can either choose another whole class challenge or teams can begin to work at their own pace through all the different challenges that the STEM Robotics curriculum has to offer.

Wednesday - Today we will finish our exploration of Circuits and Switches and how they pertain to the EV3 brick. If we have time we will do a vocabulary review.

Thursday - No regular classes today for parent conferences. All the teachers will be in the high school commons for families to drop in without an appointment. 

Today teachers will be available from 8am-12 noon, 1-4 pm, and
5-7 pm.

Monday to Thursday - This week students will continue working on their Future City project while we also finish collecting our barometric pressure data. 

This week students will also have a vocabulary practice activity as well as a test review so that they can take the unit assessment for Weather. We will either take the test this week or next week depending on how well students do on the review activities.

Students will take notes, in addition to the work they did in their workbook, to know exactly what to study for the test.

HW - You will need to practice your vocabulary using Quizlet and use your notes to study for the test.

Friday -  Students will work on their Genius Hour projects.

Monday to Friday - We are still racing our dragsters. Once we are done with the tournament, students will be given their next challenge. The next challenge will require more programming than the drag racing challenge.
