Tuesday - Garden Day!

Wednesday to Friday - Students are working on the Student Podcasting Challenge. We have three groups already recording their podcasts!
6th-grade Science

Monday to Thursday - We are going to start this week by having students finish their Heat Energy Transfer Claim, Evidence, Reasoning conclusions so they can publish their blog posts. Then we will begin the Hydro Dynamic Challenge.

HW - Choose-A-Thon Pledge Sheet due today so that students can check in how they are doing getting sponsors.

Those who got 1s or 2s on the Physics Test need to study to schedule a retake.

Friday - Today 1st period will get Science because after lunch, during 2nd period, we will begin this year's Choose-A-Thon Cispus Fundraising event! If we finish early we will probably go to 3rd period so they might get some Science time today.

No fish trapping this week - we had too much going on.

Tuesday to Friday - Students are still researching and writing scripts for the first podcasts as part of the Student Podcasting Challenge.
6th-grade Science

Monday - No School - President's Day

HW - Choose-A-Thon handouts including the Pledge Sheet went home with students Tuesday. Tuesday, students also found out how they did on last Friday's Physics Test! Ask your child how she or he did on the test.

Tuesday and Wednesday - Teams will run heat energy transfer experiments and collect data with the EV3 bricks using the Data Logging part of the Lego Mindstorms software then write conclusions on their blogs.

Thursday and Friday - Once we are done with the heat energy transfer data logging experiments, we will analyze the data so that students can write their Claims, Evidence, Reasoning conclusions.

This week period 3 will set the fish traps one day, then return the next day to ID and count any fish we catch in the traps. We always return the fish to the creek.

Friday - No School - Snow Make-Up Day
6th-grade Science

Monday - Today students need to write and publish their Potential Energy Design Challenge blog posts.

HW - Study for Thursday's Test.

Tuesday and Wednesday - Students will be reviewing for the test with a self-paced Pear Deck and then a Classcraft Boss Battle to see how ready they are for Thursday's test.

Thursday - Test Day! Those who finish their test before class ends can work on energy and forces Classcraft assignments.

Wednesday to Friday - We are going to vote on the Minecraft Story Scene designs and the best ones will get printed! 

Then we will begin working on the Student Podcast Challenge.
6th-grade Science

Monday to Friday - This week teams should finish their Potential Energy Design robots, run the programs and collect data as well as calculate the potential energy and kinetic energy of their robot designs!

This week we will also be responding to blog posts written by classes in New Mexico who are participating in this year's RiverXchange project.

HW - Only on assignments that were not completed in class.
