6G Math & Science Monday -  No School in observance of President's Day. Wednesday and Thursday - We are still working on the 1.3 exercise problems. Those who get done with 1.3 and fix any incorrect responses will take the 1.1 to 1.3 quiz before moving on to 1.4. In Science some teams are still working on the Lego Mindstorms Programming assignment. By this week teams should finish the Lego Mindstorms Programming  assignment if they have not yet finished it and begin the next assignment called Sensabot. Teams who finish the Sensabot challenge will move on to the Maze Runner challenge! Wednesday is centers day! In the last 2 hours of the day during Science, each team participates in a different experience either building or solving puzzles. One team even explores the world of VR with Oculus Quest 2 headsets! Each class will cycle through all six centers during our Wednesday Science time every other week.

6B 5/6 Math & Science Tuesday and Friday - Sixth graders are working on the 1.3 exercise problems. 6G Math & Science Monday and Thursday - Students who are still not done with 1.2 Exercises will finish that before moving on to the 1.3 exercises. We already reviewed order of operations, which is the topic of 1.3, so students will work on the exercises to see if they still remember how to use PEMDAS. Before moving on to 1.4 students will complete a 1.1 to 1.3 quiz to make sure they remember what we've learned so far. In Science some teams are still working on the Lego Mindstorms Programming assignment. 6B 5/6 Math & Science Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday - Sixth graders are going to learn about exponents for sections 1.2. Then they will work on the 1.2 exercises, the evens only, on a Google Form. If they get them mostly correct, they can move on but if they get too many wrong we will re-teach so they can do the odds and check their answers on the back of the book. Once everyone is done with 1.2, we will learn about Order of Operations using PEMDAS for section 1.3. Fifth graders need to correct up to page 11 to see if they are getting it. Then they will play the multiples game on page 12 to then work on pages 13 and 14. Fifth graders will practice their 4 and 6 times tables before we begin working on pages 15 through 19 of Unit 1, Module 3. If 5th graders cannot come to school and no one can come to pick up their workbook, I can send them a digital version and they can write answers on paper and just bring the paper to school for me to correct! 6G Math & Science Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday - Last week in Math students worked on the Chapter 1, Section 1 or 1.1 Lesson. The lesson focused heavily on long division so we are still working on it. This week the plan is to complete the exercises for 1.1, just the odds, then work on 1.2 exponents. (Note as of 2/10/22: students worked on the 1.2 exercise, the evens and many finished in class.) In Science we will continue working on our STEM Robotics unit. Some teams are still working on the Port View assignment as well as the Lego Mindstorms Programming assignment. Tuesday and Thursday - Tuesday Ms. Berg and I are switching the class we normally see on Tuesday because we didn't get to see them yesterday so today I will have my homeroom, 6G, instead of 6B and vice versa for Ms. Berg. This week in Math students will get through Chapter 1 in the Big Ideas Textbook and do some work on Prodigy in class. The goal is to finish 1.1 Tuesday and then complete 1.2 and take the quiz for 1.2 on Thursday. The 1.2 quiz will be on Classcraft and Google Classroom. In Science we will continue working on our STEM Robotics unit. Teams are expected to complete the Port View assignment as well as the Lego Mindstorms Programming assignment this week.

6G Math & Science Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday - In Math this week we are going to finish the Mean, Median, and Mode activity then students will take a pre-test before we begin Chapter 1 in our Math Textbook. In Science students will begin working on our STEM Robotics unit. We are working on the Robotics in Science quest in Classcraft and the assignments we will be working on this week are Circuits and Switches, EV3 Circuit, Kit Overview, and Port View. Those who complete the Port View assignment successfully will move on to the Lego Programming assignment. 12:30 pm on Monday - Garden lesson with our garden teacher, Valerie. Wednesday is centers day! In the last 2 hours of the day during Science, each team participates in a different experience either building or solving puzzles. One team even explores the world of VR with Oculus Quest 2 headsets! Each class will cycle through all six centers during our Wednesday Science time every other week.

Sixth graders will be working from the Big Ideas book, which they all have a copy at home, and fifth graders will be working from their Bridges workbook. In Science students are working on the Robotics in Science quest in Classcraft and the assignments we will be working on this week are the Port View and Lego Programming assignments. 12:30 pm on Friday - Garden lesson with our garden teacher, Valerie.

One of the tests will be a comprehensive assessment while other test will be a pre-test for the 6th grade textbook work that we are about to begin. In Science we will continue working on our STEM Robotics unit.

Then students will get time to complete their final reflection task. Wednesday and Friday we will do some testing in Math as the semester comes to an end. In Science we will continue working on our STEM Robotics unit. Wednesday is centers day!
