| Math & Science Mondays - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the afternoon.) Monday to Friday - Math - This week we will complete the following assignments, 031 Pizza Maker 032 Practice 6.2.02 033 Practice 6.2.03 034 Fruit Lab 035 Balancing Act Science - This week we are going to finish taking notes on energy, forces, and motion. Students are learning the middle school standards for physical science. This week we should be ready to assign LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robotics kits to each small team so that we can start learning how to use them. We will begin with lessons on how to build a robot, how to program it, and how to use the sensors. Fish trapping, if the weather is safe! 6G will set the traps on Wednesday, then retrieve the traps on Thursday to ID and count the fish. 6B will set their traps on Thursday and retrieve the traps on Friday to ID and count the fish. ===================Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students stay caught up and so that all students can access ALL the learning. Regular HW available for anyone who needs it - For Math, students have a workbook that they can take home for lessons that need more work if they don't get it during class or if they miss due to absence. Students can also finish or review any online assignment once we complete it in class on a computer, tablet, or phone. The workbook will stay at home, and students can rip out completed pages for me to check for accuracy. For Science, if students fall behind on their classwork, they can catch up at home (if students do not have access to a computer at home, ask Mr. Gonzalez for an alternative activity or assignment). If students want to access the practice quizzes and games on Google Classroom at home, they can work on those as well on computers, tablets, or phones. |
