6G - Mr. Gonzalez's 6th Grade Homeroom Class
| Math & Science Mondays - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the afternoon.) Ms. Berg's class will take photos at 10:55 a.m., and my class will take photos at 11:15 am.Monday to Friday - Math - This week we will complete the following assignments, 016 Practice 6.1.02 017 Area Review Practice (we will use Snorkl AI) 018 Unit 1 Mid-Unit Quiz! (Quiz taken on paper.) 019 Quiz Reflection (Students will learn from their mistakes.) 020 Renata's Stickers (Starting surface area.) Assignments 014 and 015 are work for students who need more practice finding the area of parallelograms, triangles, and other polygons. Science - This week we will work on the following: Monday, students will get more time to finish 009 Starship Avatar Character Card. Then we have to start setting up eportfolios on Tuesday so that students will have them ready to go for their Math quiz reflection (students keep track of what they are learning in their eportfolios). Then we have an AI activity to learn more about it and especially to determine when, if ever, it's okay to use AI for learning and more importantly, when to NOT use AI because it will NOT help students learn. Assignments 010, 011, 012, and 015 have work for students who finish classwork early and have no missing assignments to work on. Sometimes we will do one of those as a whole-class activity, too. ===================Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students stay caught up and so that all students can access ALL the learning. Regular HW available for anyone who needs it - For Math, students have a workbook that they can take home for lessons that need more work if they don't get it during class or if they miss due to absence. Students can also finish or review any online assignment once we complete it in class on a computer, tablet, or phone. The workbook will stay at home, and students can rip out completed pages for me to check for accuracy. For Science, if students fall behind on their classwork, they can catch up at home (if students do not have access to a computer at home, ask Mr. Gonzalez for an alternative activity or assignment). If students want to access the practice quizzes and games on Google Classroom at home, they can work on those as well on computers, tablets, or phones. |
