Quarter 1, Weeks 1 and 2 - 9/8 to 9/18

 

Cohort A & B

Monday & Tuesday - Cohort A2 on Mondays and Cohort A1 on Tuesdays.

Here is a list of the assignments students will be working on at home when they are not at school. At school, I will show them how to get started on these assignments and I will give them time to work on them in class as well.

If you have not signed and had your child return their field trip permission form with the photo release form on the back of the page, please do so this week. That way I will be able to take students to Chimacum Creek next week to collect water quality data as part of our Ocean Guardian School Environmental Stewardship Project!

And parents, if you cannot get your school-issued laptop to connect to the Internet, click here to see if these instructions will work to get you connected. If that doesn't work, contact us, the teachers, so that we can submit a tech request work order.
 
Week 1 assignments from the Classcraft Quest called The Starship Equinox:
  1. The Introduction 
  2. Introduce Yourself 
  3. Personality Types 
  4. Tell Your Parents 
  5. Star Trek or Star Wars 
  6. Start Your Blog (This assignment is a prerequisite required before students can begin the next quest.)
  7. Blog Link

  10. Widgets Anyone? 
  11. Passion Post 
  12. Time to Advance 
Week 2 assignments from the Classcraft Quest called Zombie Apocalypse (these assignments do NOT have to all be done by Friday, Sept 18; students can work on these next week):
  1. Finish any of the Week 1 assignments from The Starship Equinox. 
  2. Pear Deck (most students completed this one in class) 
  3. Supply List (Watch the video for now.)
  4. CDC Graphic Novel 
  5. Emergency Prep
  6. West Coast on Fire
  7. Disease

Wednesday - Everyone working from home on the assignments mentioned above.

Thursday & Friday - Cohort B2 on Thursdays and Cohort B1 on Fridays. Cohort B1 and B2 will be working on the same assignments as Cohort A above.
Cohort C

Week's Science Work - Cohort C students will be working on the following assignments for the first two weeks of school. I plan to push out more Zombie Apocalypse disease throughout the week and students can complete them during week 2, Sept 14 to Sept 18, or wait until the next week if they don't have time to get to them this week.

With regards to the field trip permission slip and photo release form in the packets that went home to Cohort C kids, if you fill that out and send it to me, if in the future I get to work with your kids face-to-face, I can get them down to the creek to test the water quality right away! It's wishful thinking and preparing ahead. :)
