6th-grade Science Monday - No School - President's Day! HW - None Tuesday - Today students will get another chance to complete the three old CER Conclusion quests that I had them work on last week: Lesson 3 CER Battery Charging Time (Lesson 4) Bottle Flipping Bottle Rockets Launch Those who are done with the above four assignments can work on any of their 3D GameLab quests. Wednesday - Today students will get to participate in some exciting activities! The Pacific Science Center and the University of Washington, thanks to a NASA grant, will be putting on a PLANETARIUM, ROVER, and ROCKETRY experiences for our students! It's going to be great! Thursday and Friday - We are going to focus on some very important skills, replying and responding to each other on our discussion forums and our blogs. We will be using some of our quests, such as Energy and Forces, to practice these necessary skills. Those who finish can work on the following quests: Friction (this is the Lesson 6 Lab) Forces Friction Knowledge Probe Elastic Force and Gravity (this is the Lesson 5 Lab) Simple Machines Rocketry Elastic Force and Gravity RAFTs Energy Saving Light Bulb Energy Transfers Gravity and Falling Objects More About Batteries The Essentials of Energy Projectiles Quests for kids who are done with all or most of the above: Newton's Laws (Only available to those who completed the Hour of Code quest) Newton's Laws Experiments Programming the Sphero Super Speed (Only available to those who reach Level 6!) Human's Flying (Only available to those who complete Super Speed) World Solutions (optional) | 6th-grade Exploratory Technology Literacy Monday - Group B - No School Today HW - Check out this blog post by Classcraft where I got interviewed about using WoW in Schools! Tuesday - Group C - We will be meeting in the computer lab so that students can continue playing World of Warcraft! Wednesday - Group A - Same as yesterday. Friday (double period) - 12:28 to 1:03pm - Group B 1:06 to 1:41pm - Group C 1:45 to 2:20pm - Group A Students will be working on their 3D GameLab quests on Fridays so we will be meeting in my Science classroom, room 410. |
