Once we reach those levels we will all be able to meet in one location. From there teams will split up to cover different locations and begin classifying the flora and the fauna! Here are the 8th grade Standards and Learning Targets we are working on right now: Structure and Function. And here is a list of the Science vocabulary words we've been learning: Vocab. And here are ISTE Technology Standards that fit this World of Warcraft project very well: The following experiences with technology and digital resources are examples of learning activities in which students might engage during Grades 6–8 (ages 11–14 - here's a link to the entire document in pdf form): 1. Describe and illustrate a content-related concept or process using a model, simulation, or concept-mapping software. (Connected to the following standards - 1. Creativity and Innovation and 2. Communication and Collaboration) The ISTE Standards (pdf file link, two that fit this project stated below) 1. Creativity and Innovation Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. a. Apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes b. Create original works as a means of personal or group expression c. Use models and simulations to explore complex systems and issues d. Identify trends and forecast possibilities 2. Communication and Collaboration Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others. a. Interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital environments and media b. Communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats c. The more you do the more Science you'll learn and there's a lot to learn this year if you work hard! Tuesday - Play WoW to level up your character to levels 10, 11, or 12. We already have students at level 7 and above! HW - Same as Monday. Wednesday - Same as yesterday. Thursday - Today students will work on page 15 of their Diversity of Life eBook (on the iPads) to use the microscopes to look at elodea leaves and identify the cells! HW - See Monday. Friday - Once teams are done working with the elodea plants we will begin looking at paramecia! HW - See Monday. |
