Math & ScienceNOSC/Finnriver field trip this Thursday from 12:30 to 3 pm!Monday to Friday - Math - This week, we will work on Math Google Classroom assignments 103 Products and Sums on Monday, 104 Practice 6.6.09 on Tuesday, 105 6.6 Practice Day 1 on Wednesday and Thursday, then we will have the 106 Unit 6 Sub-Unit Quiz. We are taking the quiz on Friday so that students don't have to wait an entire week to take it, but still get to reflect on it after spring break! :) Science - This week, we are going to have teams access their Slooh accounts to learn more about the current Artemis II mission and book time on the telescopes we are getting access to! We are fully starting our Ocean Guardian School Environmental Stewardship project as well. Students will start learning about water quality and will start collecting water quality data on Chimacum Creek (once we get all the permission slips turned in). Sixth graders will access their own Book Creator books to keep track of all the mini-projects and data we collect, including the history of Chimacum Creek NOSC presentation and the NOSC macro activity where we got this year's benthic index score! Tuesday - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the morning.) Wednesday - After school, starting at 4:30 pm, is the CES Open House, starting with a panel of 6th graders talking about technology and screen time! Then, at 5 pm, we will go to classrooms, and in Science class, we will look at the 6th-grade physical science robotics projects. ===================Upcoming field trips AND NatureBridge Outdoor Education TripClick here for the NOSC/Finnriver Farms & Water Quality Testing packet.Click here for the NatureBridge Packet. (En EspaƱol). ===================Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students don't fall behind and so that all students can access ALL the learning.Regular HW available for anyone who needs it - For Math students have a workbook that they can take pages out of to take home for lessons that need more work if they don't get it during class or if they miss due to absence. Students can also finish or go back through any online assignment once we complete it in class on a computer, tablet, or phone. For Science, if students fall behind on their classwork, they can catch up at home (if students do not have access to a computer at home, ask Mr. Gonzalez for an alternative activity or assignment). If students want to access the practice quizzes and games on Google Classroom at home, they can work on those as well on computers, tablets, or phones. |
