6G - Mr. Gonzalez's 6th Grade Homeroom Class
Math & Science Monday to Friday - Math - This week we will review how to find the area of parallelograms (009a) for students who are still confused. Then we will work on the following Desmos assignments (accessible via Google Classroom or Amplify Desmos online): 010 Practice 6.1.06, 011 Triangles and Parallelograms, 012 Off the Grid, Part 2, 013 Pile of Polygons, then 014 Practice 6.1.05. Science - We will finish setting up our classroom AI policy. Then we will work on the forces skateboarding simulation PocketLab Notebook activity before students complete a forces Snorkl activity. Students who finish their work before the rest of their classmates can also play the practice Wayground (formerly Quizizz) Science practice games. Students who still need to finish their Science MAP test will get time to finish this week. Then students will create and setup their 6th grade Math & Science Google Sites electronic portfolio sites. We will also roll Star Trek characters for some Science missions that are coming up! Tuesday - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the morning.) ------------------ Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students don't fall behind and so that all students can access ALL the learning.Regular HW available for anyone who needs it - For Math students can access every online Desmos lesson once we've completed it in class to go back and redo any confusing parts. For students who do not have a computer, or a tablet, or a phone at home we will be passing out Desmos workbooks this week. Any lesson that was confusing students can take the pages from their workbook home. Once completed, turn in the workbook pages to Mr. Gonzalez so that he can check them for you. For Science, if students fall behind on their classwork they can catch up at home (if students do not have access to a computer at home, ask Mr. Gonzalez for an alternative activity or assignment). If students want to access the practice quizzes and games on Google Classroom at home, they can work on those as well on computers, tablets, or phones. Here's what we've completed in class so far:
