Cohort C (Per 2) Monday - No School - Memorial Day This Week's Science Work - This week we will finish our vinegar and baking soda labs. Then students will design a different vinegar and baking soda lab to collect more data!

Cohorts 1 (Per 3) and 2 (Per 1) Monday and Tuesday - Guest presenters from Project JUMP will be joining us. Students are going to learn about ocean plankton and Tuesday they will each make a clay figure of a plankton that will be used on a new playground in HJ Carroll park! NOTE: the clay students will use on Tuesday contains iron oxide, which stains clothes. We have aprons but remind your child to wear something old in case it gets stained. :) Wednesday and Thursday - Students will finish up our Ocean Guardian School Environmental Stewardship Project work! Freshwater Ecosystems Ocean Ecosystems Marine vs Freshwater Venn Diagram Salmon Invaders Friday - No School - Snow Make-Up Day. (Also no school on Monday for Memorial Day.)

Cohort C (Per 2) This Week's Science Work - This week students will be finishing up their food web posters. I'm also going to give them the choice of pausing this unit to begin working on the experimentation unit and use the items from the box! The first set of experiments will use the vinegar and baking soda so students will need some space and plenty of paper towels or wash cloths to clean up. :) Monday and Tuesday we are switching periods with Ms. Berg's ELA time so students will have Science at 12:55 pm. Wednesday and Thursday we will back on our regular schedule at 10:43 am. Friday - No School - Snow Make-Up Day. (Also no school on Monday for Memorial Day.)

Cohorts 1 (Per 3) and 2 (Per 1) Monday - Here are the assignments that we will be working on this week: Power a City City Challenge Freshwater Ecosystems Ocean Ecosystems Salmon Invaders Tuesday - Today 6th graders will take the Math MAP test. Since I had my 1st period class for Science at the end of the day Friday, today I will have my 2nd period class for Science at the end of the day. Wednesday - Today 6th graders will take the Reading MAP test. Then I will have my 3rd period class for Science at the end of the day (their normal Science time). Thursday - Students who missed any of their MAPs tests will make them up today. Otherwise, we will be on our regular schedule working on the assignments listed on Monday. Friday - We will be on an early release schedule today so school starts at 8:45 am like usual, and ends at 12:15 pm. In that time we will have all three classes so students will all get Science today to work on this week's assignments.

Cohort C (Per 2) Monday - This week we are going to finish the following, then we will begin working with the Science materials in the box we are preparing for students. We are grateful to the donor who made this possible! :) Boxes are ready for pick up at the elementary school by TODAY, Monday. May 10.
