6th grade Science

Monday through Thursday - Student teams will be preparing for the Youth Summit this week.

Student teams will need to do the following:
- finish learning their water quality parameter topic,
- analyze their data and graphs based on their new understanding of their parameter,
- craft a poster to share their learning and our project with the other kids at the Youth Summit,
- make notecards of their presentation including an introduction, explanation of the project, our stakeholder (NOSC), and explain how their parameter is affecting Chimacum Creek and our salmon and trout.

HW - Here's a copy of the Youth Summit packet, with permission slip, in case your child loses it. I'm still waiting on some students to turn their permission slips in.

Friday - GreenSTEMs Youth Summit Field Trip!

HW - None
8th grade Science

Monday - Today 8th graders are supposed to be working on their snail or cockroach experiment conclusions.

HW - None, if you are all caught up.

Tuesday - Once students finish their snail or cockroach experiment conclusion blogs we will begin our comparative animal dissection study where we will be studying the different structures of marine and terrestrial creatures.

We will start with sea sponges, then freshwater mussels, then earth worms, then sea stars, then crayfish, then grasshoppers, then perch fish, then frogs!

Wednesday - We should be dissecting today if 8th graders completed their conclusions.

Thursday - The plan is to be dissecting today.

Friday - I will have a sub today to go to the Youth Summit with my 6th graders. Eighth graders will be working on their 3D GameLab assignments (quests).
