(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

This blog has a record of what 6th and 8th graders did all year. Click here to see their standards based progress reports for the year, and thank you all for a wonderful year.
Note: students can still complete any work that didn't get done in class during the summer since all accounts will remain open until September (for 6th graders this means their stewardship website, for 8th graders this means their plant project reflection/share and/or their snail or roach investigation conclusions).

6th grade Science Monday to Wednesday - This is the last chance for teams to complete their final Chimacum Stewardship Websites! (Students are to analyze their water quality data as they learn what their water quality parameters mean.) Here's the book with water quality information on Chapter 4, here's a graphic organizer for taking notes. Each class came up with the required elements of their final project websites (check the Class Moodle to see what each class came up with - Block 6, last three links - also on Block 2, the Class Video Tutorials link there are videos showing students how to create a Google Site website and how to make their water quality data graphs). HW - If you have not finished your Salmon Webquest, macro comic book, tree planting blog or your water pollution public service announcement then it's homework and has been for a while now (some have been homework since March!). Thursday - Students also have some reflection and end of the year surveys to complete today so if they didn't finish their website they really need to finish at home ASAP. This year ING gave $2,000 and the WA Foundation for the Environment (WFFE) gave $1,000 so that 6th graders can do field science and all they ask in return is evidence that kids learned science. Not much to ask for $3,000. HW - None unless you still need to work on your website, and you can still keep working on any of your blogs because I will keep your blog accounts open until September. Friday - Last Day of School! Today we will have our end of the year slideshow, departmental awards, talent show, and a great lunch sponsored by the ASB! HW - Have a great summer! | 8th grade Science Monday - Today teams will have some time to finish their Snail or Roach Experiment Conclusions. Then we will prepare for tomorrow's dissections. HW - Finish any missing blog assignments. Tuesday - Dissections! Frog OR Fish. HW - See Monday Wednesday - Dissections! Grasshopper OR Crayfish. HW - See Monday Thursday - Today we will finish dissections! Earthworm OR Sea Star OR Mussel. Students will also reflect on our year together by completing a final survey for me. HW - See Monday Friday - Last Day of School! Today we will have our end of the year slideshow, departmental awards, talent show, and a great lunch sponsored by the ASB! HW - Have a great summer! |
