Math & Science Monday to Friday -  Math - This week we will work on the Math Google Classroom assignments 053 Model Trains, 054 Soft Serve, 055 Welcome to the Robot Factory, and 056 More Soft Serve. Friday we will do some ratios practice quiz games to practice what we've been learning. Science - The deadline for Science Google Classroom assignment 015 Port View was this past Friday so this week we are moving on to assignment 017 How Sensors Work Lab. We will begin by learning a bit more about the sensors so that teams can pick which sensor they want to focus on. Then we will learn how to set up the lab so that students can start their lab and collect data. The goal is to complete the conclusion by Friday. Tuesday - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the morning.) ------------------ Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students don't fall behind and so that all students can access ALL the learning. Regular HW available for anyone who needs it -  For Math students have a workbook that they can take pages out of to take home for lessons that need more work if they don't get it during class or if they miss due to absence. Students can also finish or go back through any online assignment once we complete it in class on a computer, tablet, or phone. For Science, if students fall behind on their classwork they can catch up at home (if students do not have access to a computer at home, ask Mr. Gonzalez for an alternative activity or assignment). If students want to access the practice quizzes and games on Google Classroom at home, they can work on those as well on computers, tablets, or phones.

Math & Science Friday's aiEdu video recording went very well and students did a great job thinking about and discussing social companions with AI, the risks and benefits! Monday to Friday -  Math - This past Friday students got an extra day to finish reflecting on their Unit 2 End of Unit Assessment and complete their Google Sites Eportfolios. Students who did not finish should finish for homework because we are going to start Unit 3 this week and it is a continuation of our Unit 2 ratios learning. So we are going to complete assignment 049, 6.3 Pre-Unit Check, on Monday. Then we will work on assignments 050, Counting Classrooms, 051, Pen Pals, 052 Practice 6.3.04, and 053, Model Trains this week. (Assignments show up on the Math Google Classroom the morning we work on them and not earlier.) NOTE: We did not get to 053 Model Trains so we will do that one on Monday, Dec 15. Science - This is Computer Science Education Week and we will be doing some activities for what used to be Hour of Code and is now Hour of AI! We are going to complete a Minecraft Education AI lesson and students will also get to choose from a few of Code.Org's Hour of AI lessons! It will be assignment 016 Hour of AI 2025. Then we will get back to working on the robotics lesson called Port View, assignment number 015 in the Science Google Classroom. Math & Science Monday to Friday -  Math - This week we are going to complete lessons 11 and 14 on Monday and Tuesday to review what we've been learning in Unit 2. Then Wednesday we will have the Unit 2 end of unit assessment. We are going to take this test on paper to see if students do better on paper then on the computer. Thursday we will have time for our end of unit reflection and then on Friday we will do the Unit 3 pre-unit check. That will be assignments 046, 047, 048, and 049 on Google Classroom (assignments will show up on the day they are completed in class so they cannot be done ahead of time).  Science - Monday we will have new teams and the new teams are going to start Google Classroom assignment 015 Port View. Students are going to learn about all the EV3 robot sensors so they can select one sensor to complete a Science Lab. We will also have access to the PocketLab Building Atomic Models lessons on Wednesday. Tuesday - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the morning.) Friday - aiEdu filming happens today at 10 am for 6G and 1 pm for 6B. ------------------ Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students don't fall behind and so that all students can access ALL the learning. Math & Science Monday to Friday -  Math - This week we are going to complete assignments 041 Mixing Paint, Part 2, 042 City Planning, and 044 Practice 6.2.15. Assignments 043 and 045 will be more practice with ratios so that we can wait until after Thanksgiving week to review and prepare for the end of Unit 1 assessment. Science - This week teams are supposed to finish the basic EV3 Robot Educator lessons. By the end of the basic lessons everyone will learn how to move their robot and how to use the sensors. If there is time we will also complete some physical science mini-lessons. Tuesday - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the morning.) Friday - Student of the Month assembly at 2:30 pm.  ------------------ Any work that is not completed during class time becomes homework so that students don't fall behind and so that all students can access ALL the learning. Math & Science Monday to Friday -  Math - With no school on Tuesday we will do assignment 038 Disaster Preparedness on Monday, then assignment 039 Balloons on Wednesday. We will work on 040 Practice 6.2.12 on Thursday. Friday we will either do more practice or we will go for assignment 041 Mixing Paint, Part 2. If we do practice on Friday then we will push 041 to next Monday. [Update on 11/11/25: assignment 038 on Monday was more intense than I thought so we will finish it on Wednesday and push everything else to the next day with 039 now on Thursday.]  Science - Teams are still going through the Robot Educator programming lessons and practicing how to program their EV3 robots. That means that we may have to wait until next week to start the sensor activities and lab. Tuesday - No School - Veteran's Day HW - I am sending home another aiEdu Photo and Video Release form (copy linked here) because they have chosen us to professionally video record and they need their updated form signed by parents for this. Please fill it out and sign it as soon as you can so I can collect all those and get them ready. Math & Science Monday to Friday -  Math - Monday we will take our Unit 2 quiz then Tuesday students will reflect on the quiz and add their reflections to their Math & Science Eportfolios. Then we will complete Common Multiples, Common Factors, and Mixing Paint, Part 1. Science - All teams should be finished building their robots and should be at least starting the Robot Educator programming lessons. Once all teams get through the basic lessons at least we will begin the first activity to learn how the sensors work. Math & Science Monday to Wednesday -  Math - This week is a short week so we will work on assignments 031 Balancing Act and 032 Practice 6.2.06. We will then have our mid-unit quiz on Monday, Nov 3. Science - This week student teams will continue working on assignment 014 EV3 Kit. Students should be finished building their robots and taking the Robot Educator programming lessons to learn how to program their EV3 robots. Monday - 2 pm Makah Assembly Tuesday - Garden Day! (Our classes have garden in the morning.) Thursday and Friday - Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences!
