Quarter 3, Week 5, 2/27 to 3/3

Monday and Tuesday - As we transition from studying Energy and Forces to our Environmental Stewardship Project we are having a guest presenter!

Laura Tucker will be doing a presentation Monday on climate change and on Tuesday Laura will share what kids are already doing to help our planet! 

These activities are in preparation for our environmental unit and a March 31 tree planting and learning field trip to Finn River Farms! I'll send out invites for parent volunteers as we get closer to that date.

HW - None 

Wednesday through Friday - For the rest of the week we will be finishing up some Energy and Forces work while at the same time learning about climate change as we prepare to start our first activity on water pollution next week.

Monday - No School - President's Day!

Tuesday - Today students will get another chance to complete the three old CER Conclusion quests that I had them work on last week:

Those who are done with the above four assignments can work on any of their 3D GameLab quests.

Wednesday - Today students will get to participate in some exciting activities! The Pacific Science Center and the University of Washington, thanks to a NASA grant, will be putting on a PLANETARIUM, ROVER, and ROCKETRY experiences for our students! It's going to be great!

Thursday and Friday - We are going to focus on some very important skills, replying and responding to each other on our discussion forums and our blogs. We will be using some of our quests, such as Energy and Forces, to practice these necessary skills.

Monday - Today teams will finish the second Friction Lab, Inquiry 6.2 and then move on to the third and final lab, Inquiry 6.3.

HW - Make sure to turn in all the money you collect from your Choose-A-Thon sponsors to the Middle School office.

Tuesday & Wednesday - We are on Early Release Schedule both these days. I'm having surgery on my left eye Tuesday so I will be gone both these days.

Monday - There is a two-hour late start today due to snow and road conditions. Classes start at 9:45am.

I have a sub today, all day. Students will be working on their 3D GameLab quests.

HW - If you lost your Choose-A-Thon fundraiser information sheet or pledge sheet, just download them from here. You'll need to print the pledge sheet if you lost that one.

You have until Friday to get sponsors to pledge money for you to participate! If we raise enough money to cover all of our Cispus expenses the entire 6th grade will get an ice cream party!

Sixth grade Science scores for the 2nd term are updated on Skyward. Here's the document I shared on the report card.

Tuesday to Thursday - We are going to start and work on the next lab, EMM Lesson 6 on the force of Friction!

Friday - In Science we will continue to work on the EMM Lesson 6 Friction lab.

Today we will have our Choose-A-Thon Fundraising event during 4th and 5th period! It will start at about 12:30 and go until the end of the day at 2:20pm.

Students need to collect the money from their sponsors this weekend to turn into the middle school office on Monday.
