The midterm for this semester is Nov 3 but students can show that they meet standard on the volcano assessment at any point this school year.

Monday - Today we are going to learn how to use our Shivtr class discussion forum to have a whole class discussion on growth vs fixed mindsets.

Online discussion forums such as the Shivtr one we'll be using are great for having whole class discussions because more students can be involved instead of having to wait to be called and only being able to talk one at a time.

Another benefit of an online discussion forum is the ability to carry on the discussion for a long time. Students can continue to respond and reply to each other long after the original discussion. I also use it to have students discuss topics whether they are learning it now or later.

After students are done they can work on their volcano quests because tomorrow we will have a short quiz to see what they have learned.

HW - Prepare your blog and your notebook for the quiz because you can use them both on the quiz.

Tuesday - Today students will take a Volcano Quiz. Students who do not meet standard on this quiz can retake as many times as they wish to meet standard.

Those who finish the quiz before class ends can work on their 3D GameLab quests. You need to finish the Mt Saint Helens Rebuild quest in order to unlock the What's in a Battery quest.
